I am a keen sports woman enjoying swimming, walking, gym workouts, cycling and Pilates. On speaking to a number of people, I discovered a need for professional yet friendly sport and remedial therapy in our local community: I saw a way to combine sport and my long-standing interest in Physiology.
I qualified as a Remedial Massage Therapist in 2003 and am currently in the process of developing my qualification in Sports therapy and Indian Head Massage. Remedial massage involves a variety of strokes; movements and stretches promoting balance of muscles, relief of pain and tension and the effects of stress. Many sports competitiors use Sports Massage as an integral part of training to increase performance and reduce the risk of injuries.
Working mainly from home and two mornings a week at a fitness centre I provide a varity of relaxing, remedial and sports masage treatments to members and attendees. I currently advise a local squash team on pre-event warm up and give massage treatment after matches. I am willing to make home visits on request.
I provide a relaxed, atmosphere where discretion is a priority. During your first consultation a full, confidential medical history will be taken and appropriate examination and massage treatments fully discussed and explained. Throughout the treatment you will be kept warm and covered.
I gain enormous satisfaction from enabling clients with wide-ranging needs to continue their active lives. All, whether after one or a series of treatments, have expressed the same thing - that in terms of their quality of life, "it has made a difference."
