Since leaving school I worked at London Zoo as a Senior Zoo Keeper, for 9 years. I left the zoo due to an accident that left me with an injury to my shoulder. Whilst recovering from my injuries, I was receiving some complementary treatments (Reiki and massage) and I became very interested in the different types of treatments and the benefits they have.
These treatments I found to be very helpful physically and psychologically, so I decided to look into it further. I was encouraged by my Mum who was a member of a spiritual church to go along and speak to her friends who were actually Holistic Therapists already. It was here that it was suggested that I should attend a course.
Since leaving my position at the zoo, I wanted a career where I could continue to help others and this seemed a natural choice to take. I am now working as a Senior Therapist/Trainer for a well renowned day spa.
My future would be to move into teaching and teach others the benefits of complementary treatments. I find myself being very enthusiastic in my job and conscientious and positive in all areas of holistic therapy and also enjoy responsibility.
